IMS Innovation: PERFECT AI SOMMELIER

IMS Innovation is implementing the project from The Slovak Recovery and Resilience Plan: „Innovative breakthrough technology for testing the origin, authenticity, and health safety of wine“

Code of project: 09I05-03-V03-00022 competent authority ( sprostredkovateľský orgán ) – Ministry of Economy of Slovak Republic ( Ministerstvo hospodárstva Slovenskej republiky ).

The main goal of the project is to offer complex and innovative solution for testing and valuating the origin, authenticity and health safety of foods and beverages – especially wine, to secure their safety and purity for consumers. The unique method brings innovation by utilizing machine learning, establishes a digital fingerprint for each wine sample, facilitating quick recognition and categorization based on authenticity, origin, and health safety.

Tangible results of the project are devices (Peak Machines), which have high accuracy – 98% of results of the testing of specific parameters – f.e. the country of the origin of the wine (results of the trial tests) thanks to high sensitivity of Ion Mobility Spectrometry in the combination with the Machine Learning of these devices. The Peak Machine is equipped by sampling part ready to be deployed on the market (performing testing with new protocol) providing result promptly (within minutes) and in cost effective way. Also, there is unique e-solution– cloud database of wine fingerprints that elevate the whole process of testing and data storing into a new digital level in this specific field of wine production. There is also intangible results expected – affected purchase behaviour and branding potential of small wine producers (and their competitive advantage). Due to new standards of food safety and Origin (requirement given by regulations), the increase in Adulteration detection rate and increase in authenticity validation shall have a significantly positive impact on small wine producers. Decreasing the adulteration rate by 40-50% within the wine industry can have a direct impact on the revenue of small and medium wine producers under the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), potentially leading to an increase of revenues minimum 15%. This improvement stems from multiple factors.
